We at Clarity Massage & Wellness have a passion for facilitating your body’s transition to a healthy, happy and strong state, which operates to it’s greatest potential physically, emotionally and mentally.

We can communicate and work together to help you achieve greater movement, reduced pain, increased strength and less stress through the application of various remedial therapies, home stretches, exercises, activities…and a few hearty belly laughs!

All of our practitioners are highly qualified Members of National Professional Associations (Australian Association of Massage Therapists, Australian Traditional Medicine Society, Australian Natural Therapists Association, Australian Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Association) and offer private health rebates via HICAPS (contact your fund for eligibility).

Clinic Owner and Remedial Massage Therapist

Who: The very proud captain of the Good Ship Clarity; Sarah began her small practice on Melbourne Street in 2011, embarking upon opening Clarity in 2013 to offer more Remedial Massage and Bodywork therapies to ‘kneady’ bodies on Melbourne Street!

She has engaged a passionate and skilful team who fill the space with warmth and positivity – bringing change and relief to our oh-so-loved community in North Adelaide. Outside of the wonderful world of bodies, Sarah loves: music, theatre, film, food, giving presentations, drinking wine, tea, craft beer as well as networking, cooking and snuggling with Bill Murray (her cat!)

Why: Sarah has a strong focus and interest in: headache and migraine management, neck pain and injury, rotator cuff injury and stress management.

What: Whilst every session is individualised, from Sarah you can expect firm pressure, facilitated stretching, mobilisation and nurturing.

How: Specialising in trigger point therapy, facilitated stretching, sports massage and myofascial cupping, Sarah strongly believes that  “knowledge is power” and the key to ongoing management and care of your musculoskeletal system. By providing individual stretch and strength programs and techniques for ongoing home treatment, she aims to facilitate long term understanding and management of your body.

Courtney BignellFINAL

Remedial Massage Therapist

Who: Courtney is a lovely, warm and talented therapist who offers nourishing and relaxing massage treatments with her natural healing touch. She is also a very talented artist, having internationally showcased some of her works in photography, as well as a keen “acro-yogi”.

Why: She feels that a holistic approach to healing is extremely important, and empowering people to become active and involved in their own health treatments is a vital step in the healing process. Courtney is very goal orientated; she likes to work with her clients to set and achieve both short and long-term goals for their body and general health and wellbeing.

What: Whilst every session is individualised, you can expect a medium pressure, with focused point treatment and myofascial release.

How: Courtney specialises in: myofascial release, dry needling, trigger point therapy, pregnancy massage and facilitated stretching.

When: Courtney practices: Wednesday 10am -7:30pm, Thursday 3pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 7:30pm & Saturday 9am – 5pm.

Tanya DakinieviczFINAL

Remedial Massage Therapist

Who: Tanya holds a Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Australian College of Massage. A passion for wellness, and a personal search for wellbeing has lead Tanya on a journey exploring the power of massage. When Tanya’s not massaging, she loves cooking, crafting, yoga, hiking, being in nature, and spending time with her beagle Gus!

Why: She is passionate about each and every client achieving their individual goals. Therapeutic massage is her thing, and she loves nothing more than getting results, whether it be to relax and unwind, to regain movement or decrease pain. Massage is an extremely rewarding experience and Tanya loves working with different people on their path to wellness.

What: Each session is unique, with Tanya you can consistently expect a warm, firm and soothing treatment; focusing on easing those pesky points and melting away knots.

How: Tanya specialises in: pregnancy massage, deep tissue, trigger point and relaxation massage.

When: Tanya practices: Tuesday 9am-2pm, Wednesday 12.30pm Thursday 5pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 5pm & Saturday 9-5pm.

Katie remedial massage

We are delighted to welcome Katie Kinniburgh to the Clarity team! Katie is a strong and nurturing practitioner with 5+ years experience, the last 18 months of which has been spent working at one of Melbourne’s top rated massage clinics.

Who: Katie is a UK native, now living in Adelaide with her hubby-to-be and their dog Larry. She spends her spare time baking cakes, drinking tea, practising yoga, building sandcastles on the beach, seeking out new world music, honing her barista skills on the coffee machine at E for Ethel & spending time with family.

Why: Katie believes massage is the perfect tool for taking time out from our busy lifestyles, so that we may spend some time simply being in the present moment & listening to what our bodies are telling us.

What: Individually tailoring each session to suit your needs, Katie utilises firm but nurturing touch to ease trigger points, stretch muscles and communicate with you on areas of focus.

How: Katie targets areas of tension with the use of Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Muscle Energy Technique; all the while incorporating elements of relaxation that combine her remedial knowledge of anatomy with the fundamentals of Swedish Massage methodology.

When: Katie practices: Wednesday 12-8pm, Thursday 2-9pm, Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 9am – 12:45pm & Sunday 10am – 2pm

Chantal massage facials

Who: Chantal is remedial massage therapist with the perfect fusion of therapy, results & relaxation. With 7 years experience working mostly in day spas, she has a deep knowledge of holistic skin care coupled with a desire to get to the source of the issue, whether that be internal or external.

Why: Having worked alongside many amazing remedial and beauty therapists in different environments, her range of knowledge in both fields has fuelled her passion to help others feel their best in themselves & achieving the results they deserve.

‘I believe deeply in educating my clients to understand their own skin and body so they can make the right choices for themselves.’

What: Chantal is our resident skin expert, offering beautiful organic facial treatments using Y-Natural skincare. She is also a highly experienced Remedial Massage Therapist.

How: Chantal has a holistic approach to massage & may incorporate a number of different modalities into her sessions, including Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue & Relaxation.

When: Chantal practices Mondays 10am-3pm, Thursdays 9am – 2:45pm, Fridays 11am-7pm & every second Saturday 1-5pm.

Bev Grace FINAL

Remedial Massage Therapist & Movement Based Somatics Therapist

Who: Dip Ed. PT. Grad. Dip. Counselling
Bev came to Adelaide from Zimbabwe in 2002. She completed her Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy in Adelaide in 2010. Bev is passionate about ongoing training in the area of Body Mind therapies and somatics, and is a qualified expressive arts facilitator (Motional Processing). Her other experience has been in Personal Training on board ship. Her hobbies include: dancing, mostly improvised; painting, drawing and visiting art galleries, photography, video art and scuba diving

Why: Bev strongly believes that; “It is through the body that we connect, communicate and heal”.  A combination of life experience and learned techniques contributes to a satisfactory experience of giving and receiving healing through touch.

What: Each session is catered to your individual requirements, you can specify if you would prefer massage or somatics, or a combination of both. Expect an enriching, nourishing and completely nurturing experience with Bev!

How: She weaves into her treatment training and experience in a variety of modalities that include Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Sports Massage, Anma, and Myofascial Cupping.

When: Bev practices: Tuesday 2pm – 7pm & Thursday 11am – 2pm.

Joseph Ellis FINAL

Remedial Massage Therapist

Who: Joseph enjoys continuing professional education related to Massage Therapy and is currently completing Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia. Outside of the world of muscles, Jo is an accomplished violinist and spends time helping his family on their camel farm in the Flinders Ranges.

Why: Jo is an enthusiastic Remedial Massage Therapist with an interest in finding the right treatment for each client. He is focused on helping clients reduce stress, manage and lessen discomfort and improve overall health.

What: Each session is individually catered by Jo, but you can expect a thorough assessment, focused area treatment of firm pressure and suggestions for home exercises.

How: Jo specialises in: trigger point therapy, myofascial release, dry needling, sports and injury management, acute care, muscle energy therapy, and facilitated stretching.

When: Jo practices: Saturday: 9am – 5pm.

Who: We are pleased to introduce Salvatore Pesaturo, qualified acupuncturist with a Bachelor Degree in Health Science (acupuncture) and internship in the Chinese Medicine hospitals of Guangxi, China.

What: Salvatore (“Sal”) has a bubbly, professional and evidence based approach to practice, you can expect a thorough consultation and application of acupuncture, cupping, moxa and massage.

How: Acupuncture can be useful for a range of problems. Some of the most common are: neck pain, back pain, shoulder problems, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, muscle strains, repetitive strain injuries, headache and migraine, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), period pain and PMS, sinus problems, nausea, digestive issues, pregnancy related problems, and mental stress.

When: Salvatore practices:  Tuesday: 10am –  8.30pm, Thursday: 2:30pm – 9pm.

Julia PotterFINAL

Receptionist & Expert Tea Pourer 

Who: Julia may be new to the reception desk, but she is no newcomer to Clarity. As Sarah’s third ever client, she has known Clarity for some time & is delighted to now join the team. With a background in hospitality & cheffing, she has a keen interest in health & nutrition, & you can look forward to seeing some of her recipes featured on the Clarity blog. 

How: This year marks a seachange of sorts, as Julia ventures out of the kitchen & into the world of Pilates. Looking to improve posture & core strength – & upon Sarah’s suggestion – Julia began Pilates classes & there found her passion. She is currently completing her Pilates Instructor Training & encourages everyone to make best friends with their foam roller!
