KI Fire Relief Appeal

Clarity Charity KI Fire Relief Appeal

We were blown away by your generosity in support of our charity drive for victims of the KI bushfires. We received what amounted to truckloads of clothing, non-perishable food, medical supplies, camp equipment, cleaning products, baby products, first aid gear, toiletries, sanitary products,

water and Gift Vouchers for local stores.

Your kind and generous donations have been distributed th

is week; directly to families affected who have lost their homes and farms, as well as to be distributed by organisations on the ground including Island Care, BlazeAid and Junction Australia.

Sarah’s partne

r Glynn was on the ground, hand delivering a number of items and Gift Cards directly to farmers and families affected, as well as assisting with removing fencing materials and cutting back fallen trees.

We would like to thank all of our amazing clients for your generous donations, some of which were far and above what was expected! We would also like to thank Bunnings Australia, Flinders Private Hospital, Western Hospital, North Eastern Community Hospital, West Adelaide Soccer Club, Melbourne Street Pharmacy, Zonge Engineering, Tynte Flowers, City of Onkaparinga, Delicia North Adelaide, F45 North Adelaide + Paradise, Lucent Advisory, Step One Underwear, Ryderwear, Jeff Ramsay Compounding Chemist for your donations of equipment stock and supplies, as well as Mitsubishi Australia, Complete Removals and Cootes Hire for your

vehicles and transport which facilitated everything arriving where it needed to get to.

If you still have items you would like to donate, you are able to do so at the following locations:

  • KI Cartage, 10 Hooke Road, Edinburgh North. Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm.
  • Yankalilla Lions Club, Jervois Road Yankalilla (large shed behind the Showground Hall). Daily, 9am-4pm.
  • SeaLink Terminal Cape Jervis, 3 Vinnies bins located by the Bus Parking Lanes.

Please consider contacting these locations prior to your delivery to ensure you are delivering items which are of need at the moment. You can also check the Island Care Inc page for current priority items.

The recovery from the fires will take many, many months (years in some parts!), so Kangaroo Island is in need of ongoing support.

There are a number of specials that Kangaroo Island is extending to encourage people back over to the Island, particularly to enjoy the Eastern Peninsular (which offers a plethora of amazing experiences including: Cafes, wineries, lavender farm, eateries, walks, beaches, wildlife tours, galleries, local produce and much, much more!)

Some of the specials

currently available are through Kangaroo Island Connect (offering $25 return ferry fares), Sealink (offering $30 return ferry fares), as well as many local tour operators and accommodation locations who you can check out on Authentic Kangaroo Island.

Check out the SATC’s #bookthemout campaign, too, for more great tips of locations to support.
